Prof. Greg Bavington is the Executive Director for Queen’s University Dunin-Despande Queens Innovation Centre (DDQIC). He was appointed in November 2012 and also serves as a Special Advisor to the Provost on Innovation and Entrepreneurship. His latest innovation challenge follows five years as President and CEO of KN Rubber LLC and roles helping to design smelters in South Africa and GM’s modernized assembly plant in Oshawa. Greg was also exposed to several high-profile engineering projects, including the English Channel Tunnel and the SkyDome roof. He has served as an elected member of Queen’s University Council and on the Queen’s Engineering Society Board of Directors. Greg also serves on the board of several private companies, income trusts, trade associations, and not-for-profit organizations
Mr. Kingsley Kwaku Pinkrah is a multiple award-winning social entrepreneur, business consultant and influential leader dedicated to combating poverty and youth unemployment in Ghana. He holds the esteemed position of Founding President and CEO of the Community and Entrepreneurial Development Initiative (CEDI Ghana), where he spearheads initiatives to empower individuals and foster economic growth. Additionally, Kingsley serves as the Chief of Party of the Entrepreneurship Jobs for All (E-Jobs4All) program and was the Director of Research, Innovation, and Entrepreneurship at Data Link University. Kingsley’s impactful work extends to organizing policy dialogues, bringing together foreign diplomats, government ministers, professors, and business experts. These gatherings culminate in the passing of resolutions to the government, addressing critical socio-economic issues. Moreover, he tirelessly advocates for job creation and offers invaluable support to aspiring entrepreneurs through free training, mentorship, and access to funding opportunities. Recognized for his exceptional contributions, Kingsley has received numerous accolades as a social entrepreneur, public speaker, mentor, and business consultant. Notable among his accolades are the 2017 Africa’s Social Entrepreneur of the Year, the 40 Under 40 Most Influential and Outstanding Social Entrepreneur of the Year, and the 2018 Future of Ghana 30 Under 30 Award. In addition, he has been honored as a Young Professional Role Model and was listed among the Future Award Africa’s 50 Most Outstanding Young Ghanaians. His exceptional leadership and global development efforts were further acknowledged when he received the Honoree Prize for Community Action. Notably, Kingsley also contributes his expertise as an Advisory Mentor for esteemed organizations such as President Clinton’s Global Initiative University, the Queens Young Leaders Programme established by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth in the UK, and the Young African Leaders Initiative established by the United States government.
Mr. Matt Hawksley has over 20 years of experience in coaching and mentoring. He is the Program Manager for Centre for Social Impact at Smith School of Business, Queen’s University, and a Professor at St. Lawrence College. Matt holds an MBA from the University of Missouri in Columbia, MO, a Master of Management, Innovation, & Entrepreneurship from Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario, and is trained in the iPEC Coaching methods. He is currently the Founder of Leadogo Incorporated, which stands for Leaders in doing Good. Leadogo is a network of business leaders driving change.
Joanna Tinus joined the Dunin-Deshpande Queen’s Innovation Centre (DDQIC) team in December 2017, bringing with her a multidisciplinary background and a passion for helping others succeed. Through various volunteer roles, such as Director of Community Outreach for STEP CREW and REBOUND Team Coach for Youth Diversion, she developed a community-oriented mindset and a passion for supporting people and organizations by opening them to new ways of thinking. As Program and Community Manager, Joanna is responsible for cultivating relationships among the Queen’s and Kingston communities, developing and delivering entrepreneurship programs, and working directly with founders to help pave their way to success. Since joining DDQIC, Joanna has supported and advised over 431 founders and 168 ventures across many industries. She completed both her undergraduate and graduate degrees at Queen’s with a Medial in Philosophy-Psychology and a Master of Arts with specialization in legal, moral, and political philosophy. She also completed the Graduate Diploma in Business program at Smith School of Business, where she was able to explore the intersection of human behavior, social impact, and business.
Chloe Beisheim has held various leadership roles at the intersection of media and communications, education, and startups. From 2016-2017, Chloe served as a Video Journalist and Content Manager at Station 14 Kingston, a local news startup. Chloe was also the Social Media Coordinator for nightlight Canada, a young not-for-profit seeking to address relational poverty as one of the most under-addressed forms of poverty. Chloe joined the Dunin-Deshpande Queen’s Innovation Centre team in December 2017, working directly with founders to help them solve problems, make connections, and better tell their stories. As Program and Outreach Manager, Chloe leads communications and marketing strategy and is responsible for developing and delivering a suite of entrepreneurship programs. She has a degree in Stage and Screen Studies from Queen’s with a Certificate in Business from the Smith School of Business.
Ms. Hadas Zucker is PwC’s Global Sustainable Innovation Manager, Germany. She has worked with the bustling tech capital of Tel Aviv, where she was active in innovation management for both startups and corporations. Hadas started her career as an entrepreneur co-founding a VC-backed fashion startup, to further leading globalization and glocalization projects from Shanghai, where she lived for over half a decade. Hadas helps organizations transition to regenerative thinking and uncover opportunities through the lens of planet-centric design and technology, coupled with the business acumen of sustainability. Organizations she has worked for globally include Financial services, fintech, and impact investing: Leumi/ Pepper digital Bank (IL), Home Credit Bank(RU) SonyBank(JP), Splitit (AUS/IL/US), Menomadin Foundation (IL/AFR), Joy Ventures (JP/IL).
