RSSB Lab Assistant Recruitment 2026 for 804 Vacancies, Notification Soon!

The Rajasthan Staff Selection Commission, Jaipur will release a notification on January 25, 2026, for recruitment to the post of Lab Assistant in Government Secondary Schools and Government Higher Secondary Schools.

The application form for the RSSB Lab Assistant Recruitment 2026 will be available from January 27, 2026, until February 25, 2026. This has been officially confirmed by Alok Jain, the Chairman of RSSB Jaipur, on Twitter (now X).

Overview 

Number of Vacancies 

The Rajasthan Staff Selection Board, Jaipur will release a notification for the recruitment of 804 Lab Assistant positions. Category-wise details of the vacancies will be provided in a table below once the notification is officially released.

Eligibility Criteria 

The eligibility criteria for the RSSB Lab Assistant Recruitment 2026, in terms of nationality, educational qualifications and age limit, are given below. 

• You are an Indian citizen and reside in any state or union territory of the country.
• You must have passed your 12th exam in the science stream from any recognized board for the position of Lab Assistant (Science) and Junior Lab Assistant (Science).
• you must have passed your 12th class examination from Arts stream with Geography as one of your subjects for the position of Lab Assistant (Geography).
• It is mandatory for you to have  completed any basic computer course, certificate or diploma, as this is essential for modern laboratory work.
• In addition, it is also essential that you know how to write Hindi in the Devanagari script and are well-acquainted with Rajasthani culture.
• Your age must be between 18 and 40 years old. The age limit for women is likely to be 45 years.

Details regarding the age calculation date and upper age relaxation are yet to be made public. These details will be updated in this article after the notification is released by RSSB Jaipur.

Application Fee

To apply for the RSSB Lab Assistant Recruitment 2026, a candidate belonging to the General or Other Backward Class (Creamy Layer) category will have to pay an application fee of ₹600.

If you belong to the Other Backward Class (Non-Creamy Layer), Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, Economically Weaker Section, or Persons with Disability category, you will only have to pay ₹400 as the application fee.

The application fee can be paid using a debit card, credit card, net banking, UPI, or any other provided payment gateway. Please note that this fee is non-refundable; once paid, it will not be refunded under any circumstances.

Selection Process 

For the Lab Assistant position in Government Secondary Schools and Government Higher Secondary Schools, there is only one stage in the selection process, which is a written examination. Candidates will be selected based on the marks obtained in this examination.

The RSSB, Jaipur, will prepare a merit list for the Lab Assistant post, which will include the roll numbers of candidates who score the cut-off marks or higher in the written exam. Those who are shortlisted will have to participate in the document verification process for appointment.

Exam Date 

According to the exam calendar released by the RSSB, Jaipur, the written exam for the Lab Assistant (Agriculture) post will be held on May 9, 2026, and the written exam for the Lab Assistant (Science) and Junior Lab Assistant (Science) positions will be held on May 10, 2026.

Candidates should note that the exam timings for RSSB Jaipur have not yet been announced. Candidates will be able to check the timings by downloading their individual admit cards, which will be made available on the official website in the first week of May 2026.

Exam Pattern 

The RSSB, Jaipur has not officially disclosed details regarding the exam pattern, but it is likely that the exam will consist of two papers. The first paper will cover General Knowledge, and the second paper will focus on Domain Knowledge, i.e., Science or Geography.

Each paper is likely to have 100 multiple-choice questions. Each question will carry one mark, and there will be a provision for negative marking, which means that 0.33 marks will be deducted for each incorrect answer.

The written examination will be conducted offline using OMR sheets. It is expected that the time duration for each paper will be only 2 hours, and the medium of the written examination will be bilingual, i.e., both English and Hindi.

Pay Scale 

If you are appointed to a Lab Assistant position in a Government Secondary School or Government Higher Secondary School, you will initially receive a basic pay of ₹21,700. In addition, you will also receive dearness allowance, house rent allowance, and other benefits.

• Visit the official website of the Rajasthan Staff Selection Board, Jaipur, https://rssb.rajasthan.gov.in/.
• On the homepage, you will see an “Apply Online” section; click on it. 
• You will be redirected to the Rajasthan SSO website.
• You will need to register first, and then log in. 
• After logging in, select “Lab Assistant” as the post you are applying for.
• Then, fill in the required details. Upload the necessary documents in the specified format and size. 
• Review the application form and then finalize it by paying the application fee.
