  • You must hold a master’s degree or equivalent in nutrition, policy studies, public health, development studies, or business. Remember, individuals who have done a master’s in business management will be preferred for the job role even if they do not have the knowledge or do not come from the nutrition sector. 
  • You must have 4 to 6 years of work experience in this field and experience in conducting analytics, working with global and different cultural organizations. 
  • You must have experience working with government officials, local communities, academia, and others. 
  • You have proven experience in project designing and executing the project design to achieve success. 
  • You must have strong mentorship, coaching, and multitasking skills.
  • You must have strong creativity, planning, problem-solving, and presentation skills.
  • You should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build strong relationships with government officials, partners, staff, community leaders, and donors. 
  • You must have strong managerial and leadership skills, and the ability to work with multi-cultural teams and different work environments. 

Key Responsibilities

The Project Manager at Sight and Life will have many responsibilities to carry out to remove the nutrition gap, such as:

  • As the Project Manager, you will lead the project activities, their development, and other operations to improve their nutrition and health services in the country, including calcium supplementation and MMS, antenatal care, etc. 
  • You will need to plan the projects, run the project scope and activities, and ensure that it follows the timeline.
  • You will collaborate with SAL partners, provide insights, regularly monitor the project activities, and enhance the improvement.
  • You would be working closely with SAL technical teams for the quality standards and project activities to ensure the project implementation goes smoothly. 
  • You will need to identify and coordinate with important stakeholders to network and build activities that will be involved in the MMS project execution. 
  • You prepare dialogues, present, plan the presentations, and write donor reports while working with the SAL leadership team and the Scientific Program manager. 
  • You would need to maintain and have an open communication channel with the SAL partners, government officials, donors, local organizations, and others. 
  • You must ensure the financial and reporting meet the SAL requirements and donors. 
  • You will handle the SAL assignments and may need to assist the SAL leaders in the other operations. 
  • You will be working with the Rwanda financial staff for the budget planning, spending, and predicting the expenditure based on the activities, and ensuring it is under the budget.
  • The working location for the Project Manager is Rwanda, but you may have to travel within the country or internationally to other places.
