The Odisha Mining Corporation officially released a notification on January 20, 2026, for the recruitment of candidates for five different executive positions and invited applications from those interested in being appointed to any executive positions at OMC.

The application form for recruitment to executive positions under the OMC has been available since January 21, 2026, at 02:00 PM. It will remain available until February 11, 2026, at 11:59 PM. Candidates who wish to participate in this recruitment drive are advised to submit their applications ASAP.

OMC Executive Eligibility Criteria 2026

To apply for any executive position available at the Odisha Mining Corporation, you must be eligible. We have shared the eligibility requirements for each position below.

General Manager (Geology) – E-7 Grade

  • Educational Qualification: M.Sc. in Geology / Applied Geology or M.Sc. Tech / M.Tech in Geology / Applied Geology.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum 20 years post-qualification experience in geological functions (Exploration / Mining / Geological Consultancy).
    • At least 7 years in mining operations in metalliferous mines.
    • Conversant with MMDR / MCDR / MCR rules.
  • Age Limit: Upto 55 years

Additional General Manager (Sales & Marketing) – E-6 Grade

  • Educational Qualification: B.Tech / BE / B.Sc. Engineering in any discipline.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum 15 years experience in the Mining & Metal sector.
    • At least 7 years in Sales & Marketing of Iron Ore / Pellets / Chrome / Bauxite / Manganese / Limestone or bulk raw materials.
  • Desirable:
    • MBA/PGDM (Marketing / Logistics / Supply Chain).
    • Knowledge of SAP SD Module.
  • Age Limit: Upto 50 years

Deputy General Manager (Sales & Marketing) – E-5 Grade

  • Educational Qualification: B.Tech / BE / B.Sc. Engineering in any discipline.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum 12 years experience in the Mining & Metal sector.
    • At least 5 years in Sales & Marketing of ores / bulk raw materials.
  • Desirable:
    • MBA/PGDM (Marketing / Logistics / SCM).
    • SAP SD Module knowledge.
  • Age Limit: Upto 44 years

Deputy General Manager (Legal) – E-5 Grade

  • Educational Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree in Law from a recognized university.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum 18 years post-qualification experience as:
      • Practicing Lawyer (High Court / District Court), or
      • Law Officer in Govt. / PSU / Corporate organization.
  • Desirable: Experience in legal compliance in the Mining / Manufacturing sector.
  • Age Limit: Upto 50 years

Senior Manager (Business Excellence) – E-4 Grade

  • Educational Qualification: B.Tech / BE / B.Sc. Engineering in any discipline.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum 8 years experience in Business Excellence / TQM implementation.
    • A Certified IMS Lead Auditor with hands-on implementation experience.
  • Desirable:
    • MBA/PGDM.
    • Lean Six Sigma (Black Belt/Master Black Belt).
    • Experience in BE models (Deming / EFQM / MBNQA).
    • Exposure to digitalization & process improvement.
  • Age Limit: Upto 40 years

If you possess the desired qualifications, you will receive preference in the appointment process. The cut-off date to calculate the age of February 11, 2026, and the upper age relaxation is applicable as per the state government rules.

OMC Executive Selection Process 2026

The selection process for Executive positions at Odisha Mining Corporation consists of two stages: 

  • Shortlisting
  • Personal Interview

Shortlisting carries a weightage of 70%, and the interview carries a weightage of 30%. Candidates will be shortlisted based on their eligibility. For each position, 10 candidates will be shortlisted and called for a personal interview.

Those who are shortlisted will have to participate in a personal interview, which will be conducted in a face-to-face format. Note that before the PI, the DV will take, if everything will be okay with the DV, the candidate will appear for the PI. Let’s first understand how the 70 marks for shortlisting will be calculated. 

  • Out of 70 marks, 50 marks will be based on your matriculation examination (10th Class), which everyone will receive. 
  • After that, for additional qualifications related to the post, you will get two marks for each qualification, allowing you to earn a maximum of 10 marks. 
  • If you have additional experience beyond the requirement, you will get two marks for each year of additional experience. In this way, you can get a maximum of 10 marks for five or more years of additional work experience.

The interview, which will be conducted, will be worth a total of 30 marks, bringing the total to 100 marks. Those who score equal to or above the minimum cut-off marks, which are yet to be decided by the OMC, will be shortlisted for appointment.
