The Himachal Pradesh Rajya Chayan Ayogya, Mirpur has officially released a notification for the recruitment of Junior Office Assistants (Information Technology) under the Directorate of Recruitment on January 21, 2026, and has invited eligible candidates to apply online.

Eligibility Criteria 

In order to apply for the HPRCA JOA (Information Technology) Recruitment 2026, it is mandatory that you meet educational qualification and age limit:

Educational Qualification 

  1. You have 10+2 (Senior Secondary) Examination from a recognized board; or
  2. You have passed the 10 (Matriculation) Exam from a recognized board and have completed a one-year or two-year Diploma or Certificate from an ITI in Information Technology (IT), or Information Technology Enabled Services (ITES); ot
  3. You have completed a three-year Diploma in Computer Engineering (CE), Computer Science (CS), or Information Technology (IT) from a recognised institution.

It is mandatory that you have passed the 10th Exam from a school of Himachal Pradesh, which is affiliated with the HPBOSE or CBSE. If you are bonafide Himachali, you aren’t bound to this condition.

Age Limit 

  • Your age shouldn’t be below 18 years and above 45 years.
  • The upper age relaxation is applicable for 5 years for SC, ST, OBC and PwBD.

Application Fee

In order to apply for the recruitment of Junior Office Assistants (Information Technology) under the Directorate of Recruitment, you are required to pay the application fee of 800 rupees, which includes 700 rupees processing fee and 100 rupees examination fee.

Selection Process 

The selection process for the recruitment of JOA (IT) under the Directorate of Recruitment consists of multiple stages, which are Written Exam and Typing Test. Refer to listed points to check the key details about each stage. 

Written Exam

It will be held in online mode using the computer-based test with an exam time duration of 90 minutes. There will be a total number of 120 objective-type questions from the following subjects:

  • Computer Science / Computer Application / IT / ITES / IP
  • General Knowledge of HP
  • Current Affairs
  • Everyday Science
  • Logical Reasoning
  • Social Science
  • General English
  • General Hindi

Each question in this exam carries a weightage of 1 mark, and the medium of the exam will be only English. The date for this exam is yet to be announced, it is highly expected that this exam will take place in the second quarter of 2026.

Typing Test

Candidates who will pass the written exam will be called for the tying test, which will be held shortly after the release of the result for the first stage of the selection process. It includes two events:

  • English Typing: 30 words per minute.
  • Hindi Typing: 25 words per minute.

It is qualifying in nature, which means no marks are going to be allocated for this stage, but it is mandatory to qualify it to get  considered for the final selection.

The HPRCA, Mirpur will prepare the final selection list for the appointment of JOA (IT) under the Directorate of Recruitment  based on performance in the written exam, whose score will equal or above the cut-off date will be shortlisted for appointment.

Pay Scale

After appointment as Junior Office Assistants (Information Technology) under the Directorate of Recruitment, you will get the monthly consolidated pay of ₹12,500. No other benefits such as dearness allowance, house rent allowance, travel allowance, etc, will be provided.
