The Gurugram High Court has officially released a notification on January 21, 2026, for ad hoc appointments to the positions of Stenographer Grade III (English) and Clerk and has invited applications from eligible candidates.

If you wish to be appointed on an ad-hoc basis to either of these advertised positions under the Gurugram District Court, you can submit your application. The application process is offline, you can apply via post or in-hand.

Gurugram District Court Recruitment 2026

The Gurugram District Court has started accepting application forms for the Stenographer Grade III (English) and Clerk positions on an ad hoc basis, from January 22, 2026. You can submit your application form by post or in person, but make sure to do so before the deadline is passed.

Please note that the last date to apply for this recruitment is February 9, 2025.  Ensure that your application form reaches the concerned officials by 5:00 PM of the due date, in case of applying via post. If you are planning to apply by post, try to mail your application at least a week before the deadline.

If you wish to submit your application form in person for the Gurugram District Court Recruitment 2026, you don’t need to worry. Just make sure you arrive before 5:00 PM on the deadline, in case of applying on this date, as any applications received after that time will not be considered.

Gurugram District Court Eligibility Criteria 2026

The eligibility criteria to apply for recruitment of Stenographer Grade III (English) and Clerk are as follows:

  • You must have completed a bachelor’s degree in history from any recognized university.
  • To apply for the clerk position, it is necessary that you have studied Hindi as a language subject in your matriculation i.e. Class 10.
  • Your age should not be less than 18 years or more than 42 years as of January 1, 2026. 

Note that a five-year age relaxation is applicable for candidates belonging to the SC, ST, and EWS categories.

Gurugram District Court Selection Process 2026

The selection process for the Gurugram District Court recruitment 2026 has two stages each for the Stenographer Grade III (English) and Clerk posts, but these stages are different from each other. Details in this regard are given below.

  • Stenographer Grade III (English): The first is an English shorthand test with a shorthand speed of 80 words per minute and a transcription speed of 20 words per minute on a computer; the second is a computer proficiency test which includes word processing and spreadsheet skills. 
  • Clerk: The first is a written examination, which will be of 100 marks. 50 marks will be for questions from English composition and 50 marks for questions from general knowledge, the overall qualifying mark for this is 40%, and the minimum for each individual subject is 33%; the second is the Computer Proficiency Test, which includes word processing, spreadsheets, and English typing speed of 30 words per minute.

The final selection list for the Clerk Grade 3 (English) post will be based on the English shorthand test score, and for the Clerk position, it will be based on the written examination score. 

Notes:

  • The Gurugram District Court has not yet confirmed any date for the examination or test for the Stenographer Grade 3 (English) and Clerk positions, but it is likely that the relevant examinations/tests for both these posts will be held in April or May 2026.
  • The computer proficiency test that will be conducted for both positions will be qualifying, meaning candidates only need to pass it; no marks will be awarded for it, and it will not contribute to the final selection.

Gurugram District Court Salary/Pay Scale 2026

If you are appointed to the post of Stenographer Grade 3 (English) or Clerk under the Gurugram District Court, you will receive a fixed salary every month amounting to ₹25,500. You will not receive anything in addition to this; no allowances of any kind will be provided.

Although this recruitment is on an ad-hoc basis, if your performance is satisfactory, the Gurugram District Court might recruit you permanently. If that happens, you will receive the salary of regular employees.  Keep in mind that after joining, you might receive a consolidated salary for a maximum of six months. 

However, if you are permanently recruited before that, your pay scale will be the same as that of a regular employee. If your performance does not meet the expectations of the Gurugram District Court, you will not be able to continue in this job after 6 months.

  • First, you will need to download the notification from the official website of the Gurugram District Court. 
  • After downloading the notification, you will need to print out the application form pages from the notification.
    • If you want to apply for the Clerk post, you will need to print pages number 7 and 8, or
    • If you want to apply for the Stenographer Grade 3 (English) post, you will need to print pages number 9 and 10.
  • After printing, you need to accurately fill in all the details on the application form using a black or blue pen, and also affix your photograph and sign the form.
  • After filling in all the details, attach photocopies of all the relevant documents, which should be self-attested.
  • Once the application form is completely ready, pack it in an envelope, and the address you need to write on the envelope is ‘The District and Sessions Judge, Near Mini Secretariat, Sohna Road, Sector-11, Rajiv Chowk, Gurugram, Haryana – 122001’.
  • Once everything is ready, you can send it by post or submit it in person at the given address.
  • Please ensure that your application form reaches them before 5:00 PM on the last date of submission.
