CSIR CLRI Recruitment 2026: Apply Date, Eligibility Criteria, Selection Process

The CSIR-CLRI has officially released the notification for the recruitment of Junior Stenographer, Junior Secretariat Assistant, and Multitasking Staff on January 23, 2026, and has invited eligible and interested candidates to apply through their portal.

CSIR CLRI Recruitment 2026

The recruitment for JS, JSA, and MTS posts under CSIR-CLRI is a golden opportunity for candidates who wish to work with a reputed organization. The application forms for the recruitment have been made available along with the notification release, meaning the application process has already begun.

The application forms for the three positions advertised under the Council of Scientific & Industrial Research – Central Leather Research Institute will be available until 11:59 PM on March 2, 2026. CSIR CLRI Vacancy 2026

According to the notification released by CSIR-CLRI, the total number of vacancies for all three posts combined is 13. You can see the category-wise number of positions for each post in the table given below.

CSIR CLRI Eligibility Criteria 2026

We have listed the eligibility requirements below for applying for the JA, JSA, and MTS posts under CSIR-CLRI. You can read the following points to find out which post you are eligible to apply for.

1). Junior Stenographer:

  • Educational Qualification: You must have passed the class 12 examination from recognise board and you have stenography proficiency as per DoPT norms
  • Age Limit: Your age should not be below 18 and above 27 years.

2). Junior Secretariat Assistant:

  • Educational Qualification: You have passed Class 12 Exam from any recognised board and you have proficiency of computer typing speed along with the knowledge of computer usage as per DoPT norms.
  • Age Limit: Your age should be between 18 and 28 years.

3). Multi-Tasking Staff 

  • Educational Qualification: you have passed Class 10 Exam from any recognised board.
  • Age Limit: Your age should not be below 18 and above 25 years. 

If you have completed a three-year diploma after passing Class 10, it will be considered equivalent to Class 12; the cut-off date for age calculation is March 2, 2026, and there is a three-year age relaxation for OBC-NCL and a five-year age relaxation for SC/ST categories.

CSIR CLRI Application Fee 2026

To apply for any of the three positions advertised by CSIR CLRI, a male candidate belonging to the UR, OBC, or EWS category is required to pay an application fee of ₹500, which can be paid through State Bank Collect.

All female candidates and male candidates belonging to the SC, ST, PWD, or ESM categories are completely exempted from the application fee; that is, they are not required to pay any amount.

The application fee is completely non-refundable, which means that once you submit it, you cannot get a refund under any circumstances, even if you change your mind about participating in this recruitment drive.

CSIR CLRI Selection Process 2026

The selection process for the three posts advertised by CSIR CLRI is completely different for each, but they all have one thing in common: a different written exam with different patterns. You can check the post-wise selection process with details of the stages from below. 

Junior Stenographer

1). Competitive Written Examination

  • Objective type (OMR/CBT)
  • Subjects:
    • General Intelligence & Reasoning

  • 200 questions | 200 marks
  • Negative marking: 0.25 mark per wrong answer

2). Proficiency Test in Stenography:

  • Dictation: 10 minutes
  • Speed: 80 words per minute
  • Language: English or Hindi (as opted)
  • Transcription time:
    • English: 50 minutes
    • Hindi: 65 minutes

Junior Secretariat Assistant 

1). Competitive Written Examination

  • Paper-I:
    • Mental Ability Test
    • 100 questions | 200 marks
    • No negative marking
  • Paper-II:
    • General Awareness – 50 Q
    • English Language – 50 Q
    • Total: 300 marks
    • Negative marking: 1 mark per wrong answer 

2). Computer Typing Test:

  • Duration: 10 minutes
  • Speed:
    • English: 35 WPM
    • Hindi: 30 WPM
  • Computer-based typing

Multi-Tasking Staff

1). Competitive Written Examination

  • Objective type
  • Subjects:
    • General Intelligence
    • Quantitative Aptitude
    • General Awareness
    • English Language
  • 150 questions | 450 marks
  • Negative marking: 1 mark per wrong answer

The final selection list for the Junior Stenographer and Multi-Tasking Staff posts will be prepared based on the performance in the competitive written examination, but for the Junior Secretariat Assistant post, it will be based on the score in Paper 2 of the CWE.

CSIR CLRI Pay Scale 2026

The CSIR-CLRI has disclosed the pay scale details for all three advertised posts. These range from Level 1 to Level 4 under the 7th CPC. We have shared the details in the table below; you can see the basic pay for each position.
