BPSSC SI Prohibition Eligibility Criteria 2026
The eligibility criteria for the BPSSC Sub Inspector (Prohibition) Recruitment 2026 are available below in terms of nationality, educational qualification, and age limit.
- You are an Indian citizen and live in any state or union territory.
- You have pursued a bachelor’s degree in any subject or stream from a recognized institution.
- You have turned at least 20 as of August 1, 2026; the upper age limit is 37 years.
Note that upper age relaxation is applicable for 3 years for male candidates belonging to BC and EBC and female candidates belonging to UR, BC, and EBC; and 5 years for SC and ST male and female candidates.

BPSSC SI Prohibition Application Fee 2026
In order to apply for recruitment of SI Prohibition in Prohibition, Excise & Registration Department, Government of Bihar, you need to pay the application fee of 100 rupees, whether you are a male or female and belong to any category.
BPSSC SI Prohibition Selection Process 2026
The selection process for the BPSSC Sub Inspector Prohibition Recruitment 2026 consists of multiple stages, which are the Preliminary Examination, Main Examination, and Physical Efficiency Test. Details about each stage are given below for your convenience.
1). Preliminary Examination
It will be a single paper-based exam consisting of 100 MCQs from general knowledge and current affairs, each carrying two marks. There will also be a provision for negative marking, with 0.2 marks deducted for each incorrect answer. It will be held in offline mode with a time duration of two hours.
2). Main Examination
It will consist of two papers: the first on General Hindi and the second on General Studies. Each paper will have 100 MCQs, with each question carrying 2 marks. There will be a penalty of 0.2 marks for each incorrect answer. The exam will be conducted offline, and the time duration for each paper will be 2 hours.
3). Physical Efficiency Test
It consists of a total of four components: running test, high jump, long jump, and shot put. Details regarding each are listed below for both male and female.

- Time Limit: Maximum 6 minutes
- More than 6 minutes → Disqualified

- Distance: 1 km
- Time Limit: Maximum 6 minutes

High Jump
- Male:
- Minimum Height: 4 feet
- Less than 4 feet → Disqualified
- Female:
- Minimum Height: 3 feet
- Less than 3 feet → Disqualified
Long Jump
- Male:
- Minimum Distance: 12 feet
- Less than 12 feet → Disqualified
- Female:
- Minimum Distance: 9 feet
- Less than 9 feet → Disqualified
Shot Put (Gola Throw)
- Male:
- Shot Put Weight: 16 Pounds
- Minimum Distance: 16 feet
- Less than 16 feet → Disqualified

- Shot Put Weight: 12 Pounds
- Minimum Distance: 10 feet
- Less than 10 feet → Disqualified
The minimum qualifying marks for both the preliminary and main examinations are 30% for all candidates, and the medium of examination will be English and Hindi.
All applicants will be called for the preliminary examination. Those who qualify will be called for the second stage. In the main examination, 20 candidates will participate for each vacancy, and those who clear it also will be able to participate in the last stage, which is the Physical Efficiency Test.
BPSSC SI Prohibition Pay Scale 2026
After appointment as Sub Inspector (Prohibition) posts in the Prohibition, Excise & Registration Department, your salary will be based on Level 4 of the 7th CPC, whose monthly basic pay ranges from ₹35,400 to ₹112,400.
In addition to your basic pay, you will get dearness allowance, house rent allowance, medical allowance, vehicle allowance, and other benefits provided by the Government of Bihar for the position of Sub Inspector (Prohibition).
