Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria to apply for the RBI Office Attendant Recruitment 2026 are as follows in terms of nationality, educational qualification and age limit, go through the listed points to check if you are eligible.

  • You are an Indian citizen; or a subject of Nepal or Bhutan; or a Tibetan refugee, who came to India before January 1, 2026, and settled in the country.
  • You have passed the Class 10 examination with language subject of State or Union Territory from a recognised board.
  • Your age shouldn’t be below 18 years and above 25 years as of January 01, 2026, the age relaxation is applicable for 3 years for OBC-NCL, and 5 years for SC and ST category candidates. Additionally, relaxation is applicable for 10 years for PwBD.

Application Fee

Selection Process 

The selection process for the office attendant position under the RBI consists of two stages: the first is an online examination and the second is a language proficiency test. Details regarding both stages are shared below.

Online Examination 

It will be conducted on February 28 and March 01, 2026, for all candidates who submit their application form on or before the deadline. It will be conducted with an examination time duration of 90 minutes, there will be a total number of 120 MCQs from the five different sections.

Each question in the online examination for the position of Office Attendant consists of 1 mark and ¼ mark is going to be deducted for incorrect response. The medium of this exam is going to be only English, and Regional Languages, except for the General English section.

Language Proficiency Test

It will be conducted for those candidates who have passed the online examination. The date has not yet been announced, but it is likely to be held in April 2026.

The RBI will prepare a final selection list for appointment of Office Attendant based on the performance in the Online Examination, as the Language Proficiency Test is qualifying in nature.

Pay Scale 

The pay scale for the position of Office Attendant under the RBI ranges from ₹24,250 to ₹53,550 under the 7th CPC. During the job period, four increments of ₹840, three of ₹940, three of ₹1,200, three of ₹1,600, four of ₹19,900, two of ₹2,700 and one of ₹2,800 takes place.

After getting appointed as Office Attendant under the Reserve Bank of India, you will initially get the basic pay of ₹24,250 with additional benefits which includes dearness, allowance, house rent allowance, medical allowance and others.
