The Council of Scientific & Industrial Research – Indian Institute of Toxicology Research, Lucknow, has officially released a notification on January 20, 2026, inviting applications from eligible candidates for two different Group C positions.

CSIR IITR Recruitment 2026

The CSIR-IITR, Lucknow has released the notification for the recruitment of Multi-tasking Staff (Non-Tech) Group C and Driver Group C. The application form for the same is already available from January 20, 2026, from 10:00 am.

The window to apply online for the CSIR IITR Recruitment 2026 is all set to be available February 19, 2026, until 05:00 pm. If you are interested in applying for this job, you are highly recommended to apply early without wasting any time.

Note that your application form for the recruitment of MTS (Non-Tech) Group C and Driver Group C will be accepted by the CSIR-IITR, Lucknow; only if you have provided all the details accurately, any error may result in rejection.

CSIR IITR Vacancy 2026

The number of vacancies for recruitment of MTS (Non-Tech) Group C and Driver Group C at CSIR-IITR, Lucknow are 6, 3 for each position. Refer to the table below to check the reservation details.

CSIR IITR Eligibility Criteria 2026

The eligibility criteria to apply for the CSIR IITR Recruitment 2026 are listed below for the position of MTS (Non-Tech) Group C and Driver Group C. Refer to listed points to check if you are eligible to apply for any of the above-mentioned positions.

MTS (Non-Tech) Group C

• You have passed the Class 10 Exam or equivalent from a recognised board.
• You shouldn’t be below 18 years and above 25 years.

Driver Group C

• You have passed the Class X (Matriculation) Exam from a recognised board.
• You possess a driving licence for LMV (Light Motor Vehicle) & HMV (Heavy Motor Vehicle).
• You have adequate knowledge of Motor mechanism, so you can easily fix minor problems with the vehicle.
• You have at least three-year experience of driving a Motor car. 
• Your age shouldn’t be below 21 years and above 27 years.

Note that the cut-off to calculate the age is February 19, 2026. The upper age relaxation is applicable for both positions (MTS (Non-Tech) Group C and Driver Group C) for 3 years for OBC-NCL, and 5 years for SC and ST category candidates.

CSIR IITR Application Fee 2026

In order to apply for the CSIR IITR Recruitment 2026 for any advertised position, a male candidate who belongs to UR, OBC or EWS is required to pay the application fee of 500 rupees.

All female aspirants i.e. female candidates from all categories, and male candidates who belong to SC, ST, PwBD and Ex-SM are exempted from the payment of the application fee for both positions.

CSIR IITR Selection Process 2026

The selection process for the CSIR IITR Recruitment 2026 is made public with notification release. It vary for MTS (Non-Tech) Group C and Driver Group C, refer to listed points to check the details about the same:

• MTS (Non-Tech) Group C: Shortling, Trade Test & Competitive Written Examination 
• Driver Group C: Shortling, Skill Test & Competitive Written Examination 

The CSIR-IITR, Lucknow is going to shortlist candidates for Skill Test or Trade Test based on their eligibility. Those who will qualify this stage will be called for the CWE, and then the final selection will be done based on the CWE.

CSIR IITR Exam Pattern 2026

The CSIR-IITR, Lucknow will conduct the written exam for the position of MTS (Non-Tech) Group C and Driver Group C in offline mode using the OMR sheet with an exam time duration of 2 hours and 1.5 hours, respectively. 

There will be a total number of 100 and 150 objective-type questions from different subjects for the  MTS (Non-Tech) Group C and Driver Group C, respective, whose details are tabulated below.

Multi-Tasking Staff (Non-Tech) Group C

Driver Group C

Each question carries a weightage of 3 marks, and there is also a provision of negative marking. For each incorrect response, 1 mark will be deducted. The medium of this exam will be English and Hindi, except for the language section.

CSIR IITR Pay Scale 2026

If you are appointed on MTS (Non-Tech) Group C position, you will get basic salary range from ₹18,000 to ₹56,900 as per the Level 1 of the 7th CPC; and in case of getting appointed on Driver Group C position, you will get basic pay range from ₹19,900 to ₹63,200 under the Level 2 of 7th CPC.

In addition to basic pay, you will receive a dearness allowance, house rent allowance, and other benefits as per the Government of India rules. The expected gross salary for the MTS (Non-Tech) Group C and Driver Group C is ₹34,200 and ₹37,600, respectively.

• You will see two buttons: Apply for Driver or Apply for MTS, tap on the one for which you want to apply.
• Fill in the personal details, contact and address details, educational qualification, and upload all the required documents.
• Lastly, you have to click on the ‘Proceed to Pay & Register’ button and go to the next page.
