• You have pursued a Technical & Vocational Education & Training Higher National Diploma from a recognized institution, or
• You have completed a bachelor’s degree in engineering, electrical engineering, or any related field from a recognized institution.

Experience 

• You must have five to eight years of hands-on electrical experience with residential, commercial, or industrial projects; and
• You have at least one to two years of experience in teaching, training, or mentorship with a TVET institution, technical school, or workshop.

Additionally, you must be familiar with the GEC and safety regulations; not only this, but you must also have adequate practical knowledge of electrical troubleshooting, installation, and control systems and have proficiency in reading the electrical diagram and technical drawings.

Notes:

• Individuals who have experience of AutoCAD, PLC programming, or electrical drafting and already have worked in a TVET institution or technical training environment will get preference for appointment.
• If you have strong communication and organizational skills and also the ability to engage and inspire students with a practical, hands-on teaching style, you may be preferred for appointment.

Key Responsibilities 

Upon appointment to the Experienced Electrical Technician position, you will be given two responsibilities, which are as follows:

• Firstly, managing the CETECH Ghana’s project work, which involves carrying out and supervising electrical installations; troubleshooting electrical faults; conducting system implementation and implementing repairs; installing and maintaining control systems; ensuring Ghana Electrical Code and international standard compliance; mentoring junior technicians on project sites; and others.
• The second task involves providing training at IPES Ghana, which includes a structured course lasting three to four years covering Electrical Installation, Maintenance & Troubleshooting, Electrical Drafting & Design (AutoCAD), Control Systems & PLCs, and Safety & Compliance. Additionally, you will be required to prepare lesson plans, conduct practical exercises, train students using real tools and equipment, and perform other related tasks.
